OK, GTE is CDMA/AMPS hybrid. The Pacbell PCS is a TDMA/GSM PURE digital
hybrid, no analog here, so pretty much harder to clone. I know this cuz
I just got cloned again, what a pain in the ass. I have to dial the #, then
enter a pin code, then press send before my call is completed. There are
two different CDMA systesm that I know of though, one uses 8k vocoders and
the other one uses 13k vocoders (or so I have heard). In LA there is a c
company useing the 8k vocoders but I heard their system is trash. During
the softhandoffs above 50mph they loose your call and the system supposdely
sounds like crap. I have the 13k vocoders in the eastbay (SF, oak), and
I don't have any of those problems, just a problem with the limited # of
digital sites. That is a problem you could be facing between the different
sprint PCS services, one using 8k and one using 13k, because they aer
SUPPOSDELY not compatbile, but that's funny since on the qualcomm webpage
it says that both the QCP800 and QCP1900 (or whatever # it is) has both
the 8k and 13k vocodres. Makes you wonder.
