-=> Quoting Jeff Green to John Tserkezis <=-
Hello Jeff,
JT> Why not put him back because that was the original plan anyway? It
JT> appears that is too easy for them.
JG> I'm sorry John, but you don't understand the juvenile mind.
JG> If it is too simple, they'll never be able to wrap their puny little
JG> minds around it. That was why I added the "netmail him"
part. A little
JG> bit of complication while keeping a lot of simplicity.
JG>> Que? Does that mean a super-moderator? How the fuck are they going to
JG>> read all the news?
JT> Not one moderator for all echos, but one "main" one who has the
JT> ultimate say on what goes. Presumably they are the ones that pick
JT> the individual echo moderators in the first place too.
JG> That's fair and democratic! If policy four doesn't even mention
JG> moderators, then moderating the echoes has SFA to do with the fuckwits
JG> at the top of the shit pile.
I personally don't give a shit what P4 says. If you use common sense, it
just happens to conincide with P4 anyway. Morderators keep some sort of order
in echos, to prevent the type of crap that happens in internet newsgroups.
Some people go in, make a few buddies, and then throw a spanner in the works
where all hell breaks loose. They do this for fun, leaving the newsgroup in
a mess.
This happens in fido where there is no moderator, see zone3sysop. :-)
JT> From what was mentioned in the FN_SYSOP echo, they were trying to
JT> make available all world echos on the Z1 backbone. So someone in
JT> southwest mongolia knows which echos are available in downtown
JT> cabramatta if they want. If you read between their lines, it was
JT> also a case of "if Z3 does not comply, we'll stop all international
JT> echos to your country".
JG> Way to go!! Stalin and Hitler would be proud. Any attempt at that
JG> would just manage to kill fido quicker than the way it's going. The
JG> frustration alone would cause people to pack it in.
It seems Gene Paris got the shits with bruthy boy, and gave him the royal
boot up the bum.
JT> Oh, I also just received a policy complaint from David More, a real
JT> one this time, not just a pretend threat like all the others. This
JT> one had "formal policy complaint" on the top. Whoo Hoo!
JG> What's his complaint this time?
Same as before, Rod. I told him to get fucked basically. I would be quite
sick of him if he wasn't of any humour value. :-)
JT> I also posted a couple of messages in zone3sysop that he may not
JT> like, mainly because one (a couple actually) proves he is a shifty
JT> cunt, and the other ridicules him. For those who have access, look
JT> for the subject line "do it yourself policy complaint kit" in
JT> zone3sysop. I thought it was rather funny.
JG> Was this before or after his policy complaint?
After.
