Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delay in the responses - been completely tied up at this 
end down-under!
Actually when that happens  - from the CLI do "chkdsk : /F", 
follwed by "eject :", and disconnecting it.
Then reconnect 
it - you should have the "usbicon.cmd" activated in your Sratup folder 
so that it pos up and announces the "newly [re]connected volume" - at 
this time the icon in the Drives object will be the removable one.
