For the most details, check www.GoSware.com. The manufacturer is SuccessWare
International in California USA. The voice phone number is (909) 699-9657.
The price if you order direct from them is about $190 US, so I recommend you
buy from a catalog house (such as ZAC catalogs) where you can get it for
about $150 US.
There are no royalties, and the distribution is typically only 300k in size,
which beats the pants off the BDE's two disks of distribution. It's a drop in
replacement for the BDE, and works quite well. It includes both 16- and
32-bit versions, also.
It doesn't do Paradox - it's strictly .dbf format, though it'll handle Fox
and Clipper variations, as well as a proprietary .dbf variant.
The Apollo components add several useful functions, including all the xBase
commands you might be familiar with, queries and filters.
I've never done any performance testing on it, but various messages I've seen
on the Net from other users indicates that it's at least as fast as the BDE.
I recommend it without hesitation.
