 Having read your message I decided to implement some of your suggestions,
 however Your message raises some very distrubing questions, for which I
 would like to solicit some comments from the valued readership.

 Could fax users be assisting in a defense campagne???

 Competition is needed.  Optus already succeeded in being my carrier by
 choice for overseas calls.

 Has Telstra a vested interest in eliminating free BBS's???

 Could it be that Telstra is trying to force the users of these free or
 nominal cost only BBS's to subscribe to the expensive internet service
 providers, preferrably the ones Telstra is interested in???

 Is AARnet likely to benefit from "anschluss" / takeover by telecom???

 IG> If you wish to do something about this write or telephone Telstra 
 IG> and complain, also complain to your local members of parliment.
 
 Would phone calls to talk back radio shows be conducive / effective in
 persuading Telstra in reconsidering their stand???

 Who knows one / some journalist(s) who is / are concerned about a doubling
 in line cost just because they have a fax or a modem connected to the
 phone???
