  That's not quite accurate - Jeff is the gateway. It would be much
better if Paul did it... not that I'm doubting Jeff and John, just on
general principles. If something involves three nodes, the chance of a
stuffup increases 27-times.

  Basically, this is what I was trying to tell Paul: that most of us
will stay with Fido in the short term, and if he cuts the Fido feed
he'll be left taking to himself. His original intention was the
correct one: set up for UUCP to create a free-and-easy net gating Fido
and the Internet.

  Personally, I think Fido will die, but there will be a long and
lingering illness before the last fleas leave the debilitated body...
