SB> I am not going to answer this white racist dribble quite yet. I will
SB> first contact my husband's first cousin, who is a professor of
SB> physical anthropology and archaeology, and find out the names of
SB> specialists who can speak knowledgeably on this. I checked *your*
SB> sources out on the internet, and they were not anthropologists or
SB> archaeologists; they were clearly white racists (and, in some case,
 CM>
CM> 1st question! Why is everything alwways racist when not in total
I believe she had already answered your question -before- you asked it.
The article you posted used sources from people who are known racists. Even
though a racist can speak the truth on some matters, they cannot be objective
when speaking on matters such as this.
 CM> agreememt ? 2nd question Where did "Native American's come from ?
That can be answered in two ways -- check out the various cosmologies of
the Native peoples, or look at sources from reputable, objective
archeologists. I myself don't know. I'm happy enough that Native people
are here.
SB> over worked reporters) and, speaking as an anthropologist myself, they
SB> clearly did not understand the implications of this find at all. They
SB> did what you have done: used it, not to further truth, but to further
SB> their nasty little belief in white supremacy (or, in the case of the
SB> reporters, to meet a deadline).

SB> I will respond to this, but not instantly. Once I have the names in
SB> hand, I will have to go to the University of Pennsylvania archaeology
SB> department to do my research; and Philly is a couple of hours away
SB> (not a trip I make every day)

SB> In the meantime, your ignorance and your racism are both showing very
SB> clearly, Charlie. Some things apparently do no change over time.
 CM>
CM> When I posted this I assumed someone would call me a racist .
I don't know about anyone else, Charles, but Sondra hasn't called you a
racist yet. She called the people who contributed to the article racist,
and she mentioned your racism, but let's be fair -- she did not call you
a racist.
CM> Never the less let's make one thing clear here, that being My
CM> people the Cherokee are a raceless people, they are mixed with
CM> many blood lines even black as you may well know ! It may well
Irrelevant, really. While the people of the various Native Nations
intermarried among themselves, and later with Europeans and Africans, this
doesn't preclude the possibility of the emergence of racism. Anyone, no
matter what their genetic background may be, can become a racist. One
thing I'd like to note, though: Racism is rather impotent in an individual,
but gains strength in a group of like-minded people.
CM> just be that "caucasians" where in the America's frist and mixed
CM> with others who came later as there breed died off . That is
 CM> Mormon teaching ...
CM> Caucasians are not all "WHITE" as all negros are not "Black"
CM> Many scholars believe Egyptions were in South America long before
"Many?" Would you mind citing your source for this claim? If this a
reference to the pyramids in Mexico and the rest of this hemisphere, then
you're off-base with this one. I've neither seen nor heard of any evidence
of Egyptian influence on the various native cultures in the Americas.
CM> the "European" settlers came to north America. Leif Eriksson also
CM> was reported to have came to north American between 970 -1027 AD.
CM> my information comes from the... Academic American Encyclopedia.
 CM>
CM> My reply to your calling me a "RACIST" because you do not agree
Again, I'd like to point out that Sondra hasn't called you a racist in
this echo.
CM> with a artical I posted in this echo is, why don't you become a
CM> realist rather than calling names with no proof other then your
 CM> predjudice .
There's nothing wrong with being prejudiced against racism. And it seems
to me that you're really the one engaging in the very thing you're accusing
her.
CM> Freedom of speach has it's limits, that is your are fine as long
CM> as everyone is in agreement with what you have to say. After that
CM> it's it's quite a diffrent story . If you can only respond to my
Actually, Charles, freedom of speech is exactly what's occurred here. You
introduced an idea, and Sondra pointed out that your sources are racists.
She did not attack you personally. You have seriously misunderstood her
words.
CM> post by calling me names, that in my opinion is bashing a person
CM> and not a the artical. I'm sure this echo has rules about that
 CM> sort of thing!
It does, but Sondra has not "bashed" you. Mere disagreement with your ideas
is not bashing. You may take your racial views personally, but that's a
personal matter for you, and you'll have to learn to deal with it. However,
simple disagreement isn't bashing. You seem to believe that whenever a
person introduces an idea, no matter how bizzare or erroneous, everyone
else must agree with him or else they're bashing him. That's a bit
elementary, don't you think?
