     The pneumonia shot is only a vaccine to one of the common bacteria that 
cause pneumonia (named Streptococcus pneumoniae).  You may still get 
pneumonia if you get the shot, just like you may still get the flu if you get 
a flu shot... it would just be caused by something other than what you were 
vaccinated against.  If you have major medical concerns like asthma or immune 
difficulties the shot may be useful (talk to your doctor), but for most 
healthy adults under 65 or so it is not considered that useful.
