RT> Just had a look at a FAQ I've been compiling on controller-less modems
RT> (C-LESS.TXT) and it appears that there are DOS drivers for MWave.
RT> Dunno about UMC tho..
DW> Where can I find the file???
C-LESS.TXT is available for FReq from here.
For the MWave drivers try:
Here are some addresses:http://www.spectrumsignal.com
http://watson.mbb.sfu.ca
To access the MWave mailing list digests, visit:
ftp://watson.mbb.sfu.ca/pub/mwave/digests/
The latest drivers are in:
ftp://watson.mbb.sfu.ca/pub/mwave/
The latest Archtek drivers are in:
ftp://watson.mbb.sfu.ca/pub/mwave/archtek/
If you get on the mailing list at Watson, you can find out where to get
the latest Mwave 33.6kbps V.34 code. It is now available for your card.
Send a note to subscribe to this list. mwave-l@watson.mbb.sfu.ca
Put "subscribe" as the subject.
Also try to ftp from: ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/
Obtain ver 1.79 of the V34.dsp file from http://watson.mbb.sfu.ca/
This file, amongst other things, corrects for the incorrect
implementation of the V34 standard by certain modem manufacturers.
Just have them rename the old file and copy the v1.79 file to
\mww\modem. Mwaves can be difficult to configure but the site above has
reference to most problems/drivers/fixes. AT&F&D3\N5\Q3 for init.
Useful contact: Malcolm Ware - Team Mwave V.34/V.pcm Developer
IBM Zurich Research Lab
Latest MWave software (ver2.22) allows simultaneous(?) voice too
I don't know which MWave modem you have
Hope that helps
