Windows  if fairly insignificant in the network world at the moment. And
yes, I've seen the figures of 156% growth in NT sales last year. 156% of

ppp/slip is used for connection to systems that are more or less
permanently connected. uucp is the one of the easiest ways to get offline
(read cheaper) news reading capabilities.
