Big time congratulations! While I know this is only the start to
lifelong sobriety, it is quite a noteworthy accomplishment.

I am glad that parole is what got you started then. However, the threat
needed would differ from individual to individual. Most of the addicts I see
in my job as a Medical Technologist are simply not scared or threatened by
physical harm, so they keep killing themselves slowly with their choice of
drug(s).
