Spake Harry,
Not here, Kris, both cd roms and hdds are mixed. Some of the problem I may
have attributed to scsi boot may be specific to lesser ability of the older
scsi Plextor cdrw to read a boot cd it itself burned. The mobo bios (IBM)
does find a bootable linux CD in that drive; but only has success in
comleting its boot when the same CD is moved to the newer ide cdr.
I believe it is still the case that it is harder to get an unexpected
coaster from a scsi cdrw than you may still suffer from an ide cdrw.

The scsi-ide mixt gives only one problem: the boot up from a CD usually
gets hosed if both systems are present. The only working solution
hitherto I've found is prior to the boot to detach one of the systems
(or scsi, or ide).
