Spake Harry,
Mixed IDE and SCSI is no problem with volume management (LVM) and os/2-eCS,
You assign and reassign letters as you like. Keep your cool when you add or
remove hdds, and you still will have no problem you can't solve, so long as
you as know where your boot manager is or can install one should you have
removed it with the hdd it was mounted on.

But, even serious power users/mechanics with multiple hdds can have
problems they cannot easily overcome with mulitple os's drives, and hdd
controllers.

        About:Re: [OS2HW] SCSI DVD?

My interest in SCSI is because my system is all SCSI. I have never had
an IDE device in this sytem.

I'm leary about mixing SCSI and IDE devices. The IDE DVD Writer will
compete with a CDROM and CDRW SCSI devices. But only in the sense that
they all have to work together. And I might use all of them through
out my day.

The ACARD idea allows me to keep all SCSI drivers.

Without ACARD, I'll end up introducing an IDE device in the mix. I
have no idea whether or not an IDE DVD Writer would coexist peacefully
on an all SCSI system. And whether or not RSJ will be able to use
either the DVD Writer or the CDRW drive without difficulty.

Would introducing the IDE also require some of DANI's drivers to make
this all work? (W4 FP17)

Anyone having hard experience with such a setup, would be encouraged to
chime in and share their experiences.

Thanks,
Mark
