Once upon a time, out on MARS. Can anyone tell me what is available to run natively under OS/2? I am looking for something that I can replace my WildCat 4.20m10 system (running under Dos VDM's in Warp3) with the ViaMail mailer/tic processor/file processor and multitudinous WC specific utilities. I have oodles of games registered, and most should cross over, as they all run using DOOR.SYS, or an equivalent type drop file. Must be easy to config, no tedious text config files, please... Menu driven config to handle the config file is ok. I currently host about 7 different FTN style networks for echos, some networls have games run IBBS style (none here). I'd like to keed the QWK door capabilities for some of my users who have been so loyal. I run Irex (reg'd) for the internet transfers and I know that one is available for OS/2, so that one isn't a problem. I'd also like it to be able to run Telnet for future possibilities, should other than dial-up be my sole option. I am looking at all angles, and am somewhat hestitant, due to the large amount of $$ invested already. So most would have to be freeware, or open source solutions, to run on an existing 486dx4-100 machine. It has a moderate sized hard drive, and a SCSI driven 7 CD changer, plus an IDE style CD (master). Most of the hardware is older, but still more than adequate for the uses demanded so far. An upgrade in hardware isn't totally out of the question, just not at this time (no $$$).
