CA>What is a "practicing geneologist"?

Like living, I do it so imperfectly I keep practiceing
til I may do it correctly (and then like living when I
finally get it right, I will be able to go finally rest 8-)

Prepare for the second coming; when they believe all families
will be completely reconstituted (hence to them it is importent
that all members of ones family are properly baptized and sealed)

CA>Why?

Some feel, wondering about such matters is one of the distinctive
characteristics that helps distinguish us from all other members
of what is colloquially called the animal kingdom.

CA>TA> Point of note: I have an English-French-German=Yankee
CA>TA> heritage.

CA>Is 'yankee' the more modern mask used for American Indian?

It is actually a disparaging nickname, "Jan Kaas" the original
Dutch settlers of New York originally attributed to their
English neighbors up in the Conneticut Valley; that became
corrupted into Yankee. During the American Revolutionary
War the English derisively sang a song, "Yankee Doodle",
mocking the poorly clothed cololonists (who reworded it
some and adopted it as a marching song 8-). At the time
of the Civil War (or War Between the States if your're a
Redneck 8-) the Southeners added the application "Damn"
to signify those Americans north of the Mason-Dixon line
frustrating their ambitions. (Morris' "Dictionary of Word
and Phrases Origins"-)
