While I don't own a 1202, I do own several other Mackie desks.  I've found 
them to have about the best sound for the buck... I have several StudioMaster 
desks also and I prefer the Mackie sound. If the 1202's sound is anything 
like their 8 bus and 4 bus products, you'll be happy with it.
