Because no one that I know of ever publishes a test where they have a
primary scsi system with IDE drives attached to it. Mostly its an all IDE
system, or and IDE system with a SCSI hanging some secondary device(s).
The disk subsystem of practically any OS might have some hidden gems to be
discovered in such rare cases. I'm not much of a risk-taker with my
system stability.

It's good to hear that some systems are out there working just fine. I
needed to hear that so that I can move to a warmer and fuzzier place.

This suggests that the IBM drivers are not adequate to the task. Anyone
care to elaborate why not? (Dani: I'm glad to know that you have worked
hard on these drivers. And I'm sure that I'm one among many who feel that
way. Great job!)

Anyone else experiencing this CD boot problem? I suppose that I don't
boot too many CD's in this system. And perhaps I can live with this
glitch.

I certainly appreciate the help/feedback on this.
