Heelo Paul, BL> If I remove the cunbatch line *both* my gzip and compress.exe BL> say it is a stuffed file. If I compress a file using my BL> compress (without the cunbatch line), then both gzip and BL> compress handle it. BL> I have tried removing the cunbatch line several ways. First I BL> just took it out leaving the file shorter, then I overwrote it BL> with 0x00, 0x20 and 0xFF. Nothing works. PE> No, you should delete the whole cunbatch line, including the PE> newline character which I believe is there, and leave the file PE> shorter. I was using text editors to remove the line, and the bloody things were character-translating the 0x00 that gzip et al uses to identify compression. It's okay now... and working. Now all I have to do is work out how to send you a message. I put a proper message in \spool but it didn't get sent. Where do you put it so that UUCICO recognises it? I get all your messages in spool/scorpio and the first time, UUCICO created the \scorpio directory. I wonder if I have to create a \Ubobl directory for my uploads?
