We took my son to a local children's hospital where they did a complete 
workup: psychological, physiological, vision, hearing, neuro, the whole 
works.  We actually suspected something quite different, but wound up with 
ADD.  In a way, we were lucky: ADD can be treated.
So can many other problems with similar symptoms.  It is well worth having a 
good medical evaluation.
