The message from Stuart Dubois rises higher:
 C>Bruford -- Gradually Going Tornado
C> I don't like the singer, but the music is good.
SD> I have several Bill Bruford and/or Bruford (the band) albums. If you
SD> like that one, you might like the others. I'm not a big fan of any of
SD> them, but _Live Tapes_ has some good stuff on it.
I've got a couple of his albums on tape, but with the way my tape player
has been acting up the past year or so, I've listened to them rarely.
The player's been OK recently, so I'll try some of it. I could just
borrow your CDs too, I s'pose. On tape I have _One of a Kind_ and I may
have another one floating around somewhere.
SD> I think I could get into this after I learn to
C> get over the singer (I did the same thing with Allan Holdsworth's
 C>_IOU_).
SD> You tend to be a bit finicky about singers...
Yep, until I can get used to them, if I can.
SD> what did you think of
 SD> that Renaissance live?
Well, I can't seem to get enough of "Carpet of the Sun" (truly a
phenomenal song) and I like "Mother Russia" a lot too. "Running Hard"
is OK. That's all I've listened to. As for Annie's voice, well, it's
the best female singing voice I've ever heard. I think I'll need to try
more Renassaince.
 C>The Beatles Anthology 3
SD> as well as the originally intended
C> versions of songs from _Let It Be_.
SD> Are they fully finished George Martin versions? I'd buy the Anthology
 SD> just for that.
Martin produced and Glyn Johns engineered the following:
are "I've Got A Feeling," "Dig A Pony," "Two of Us," "For You Blue,"
"The Long And Winding Road," "Get Back," all of which, if I'm not
mistaken, ended up on _Let It Be_ (I don't have that album). These are
all the non-Spectorized versions.
SD> Also, and at quite a surprise
C> to me, Paul's "Come And Get It," which I didn't know he had ever
C> recorded. It's nearly identical to the Badfinger version.
SD> Considering how Paul it sounds in Badfinger's hands, one would tend to
SD> suspect they didn't fiddle around with it much. When God gives you a
SD> song, you just go out and play it, I suppose.
Yep. After further listenings, you can tell that it's not as polished
as Badfinger's version.
