Hi Bill,
RH> He does pretty well overall. Right now the biggest road block in his
RH> care is getting them to acknowledge that he had a stroke while on
RH> active duty. Claims of that sort take a while to wind thru the system
RH> so we may be waiting for a good while yet.
BS> Keep your chin up! Things like this can sometimes have unexpected
BS> good results. My dad filed a VA claim for a minor heart attack while
BS> he was in the service. Naturally they declined it. But in the process
BS> of researching his service discovered that during WWII he'd been a
BS> WO. Since he'd retired as a TSgt, they owed him a bunch of
BS> back retirement pay.
TBH, most days it's not even on our radar. Occaisionally one of us will
wonder aloud how things are going, but those times are very rare for me.
Steve did get a letter not long ago letting him know that his claim was
being forwarded to the board. No chance of him getting extra pay for a
promotion tho, he never went WO.
Meanwhile, strawberry season here is waning and blueberries will be
flooding the market soon. Peaches will be ready some time in July, about
the time this year's crop of watermelons is ready. Fresh, hot house
tomatoes are available but soon we will have garden fresh ones--lots of
good eating this time of year.

Catch you later,
Ruth
