  Currently the highest rated DVD burner according to several sources is found here

These Plextor 716A's have been reputed by more than one site or magazine to
be able to record at up to 8-speed on 2x media!  I have personal experience
with one as well and it is truly extraordinary and can be had from some
outlets at a fraction of Plextor's list price.  Check pricewatch.com if you
want extreme quality, versatility and reliability.  BTW I have no
affiliation...just a fan.
