I overheard a message to you about slix for your MTB, and I wanted to put in 
a plug for some tires I bought for my wife's bike. They're IRC Metro's, and 
they aren't completely slick. They have rain grooves, diagonally, like a lot 
of road bike tires do, and a nice, thick tread area for puncture resistance. 
Sidewalls a flexy enough for a smooth ride, though.
We're both really pleased with them, and they didn't cost a lot, either, but 
I can't remember what they were. Look up in Nashbar...that's where I think I 
got 'em.
