Hi Bob,
No to both of the questions below, however I now have the card and
drive working !!
In addition to the two on-board EIDE controllers on IRQ 14 and 15,
this additional (AUS$29.00) Connectland, Silicon Image SIL3112 based
card (with RAID chip as well, but not supported under OS/2), works with
the latest DANI driver (v 1.7.4) on IRQ 11, with the following
Config.sys command line:
BASEDEV=DANIS506.ADD /A:1 /BM /U:0 /ATAPI /RMV /U:1 /ATAPI /RMV /A:2 /U:0 /V
captured configuration is as follows:
R1.7.4 /A:1 /BM /U:0 /ATAPI /RMV /U:1 /ATAPI /RMV /A:2 /U:0 /V

I have partitioned the Hitachi 80GB SATA drive using LVMGUI and
formatted it with JFS, written data to and from the (external) drive
(I've mounted it in an external 3.5" drive case and run the cable out of
the system to the case - unfortunately I was unable to get a SATA card
with an external port - they do exist).
So that was one successful project today !
Cheers/2
Ed.
