Did I nuts - fails during the compile but get similar for building the 
GnuCobol
compiler as well.

I am NOT experienced with OSX and only got it to have a play as it is possible
the only O/S I have never used.  Last usage of Apple software and hardware was
with Apple II with a North Star drives (floppy ?) around 1980.
