DOS always letters any hard disk partitions it can understand beginning
with C, it just skips partitions it can't handle.

NO! Win 95 will _only_ install on a primary partition on the first hard
drive.
If you have ony one physical hard drive and can add a second drive there
is a way to install it relatively painlessly, otherwise it will involve
a lot of work.
