Hello Jeff,

JG>> It sounds like the shit really has hit the fan everywhere.

JT> The whole situation is rather fucked. Now the dickheads are arguing
JT> the fact that paul's wish to not come back to fido is justification
JT> to not re-enlist him into the nodelist again.

JG> ROTFL!! That's a great way to win an argument. Piss Paul off and then
JG> say that he can stay pissed off because they've heard along the
JG> grapevine that he doesn't wish to come back.

JG> Why not put him back, send him a netmail in ZMH and ask him. If there
JG> is a failure to connect with him on a minimum number of occasions,
JG> boot him out permanently. Otherwise you'll get his answer via netmail
 JG> anyway.

Why not put him back because that was the original plan anyway? It appears
that is too easy for them.

JG> I thought being available for ZMH was a requirement of being a node?
JG> ie not available, off you go.

Some nets are more strict than others, but generally, that is the way it's
supposed to work.

JT> On the zone echo co-ordinator position... correction, echo god.
JT> Seems that not only with "they" have a say on what is and
what is not
JT> to appear in any echo, but who gets (or does not get) echos that are
 JT> exported.

JG> Que? Does that mean a super-moderator? How the fuck are they going to
 JG> read all the news?

Not one moderator for all echos, but one "main" one who has the
ultimate say
on what goes. Presumably they are the ones that pick the individual echo
moderators in the first place too.

JG> Does that mean if they don't like my origin line, they'll stop
JG> exporting the OS/2 or Windows echoes to Australia?
 JG> FMD!! (Fuck Me Dead!!)

From what was mentioned in the FN_SYSOP echo, they were trying to make
available all world echos on the Z1 backbone. So someone in southwest mongolia
knows which echos are available in downtown cabramatta if they want.
If you read between their lines, it was also a case of "if Z3 does not comply,
we'll stop all international echos to your country".

It was getting too hard NOT to think some yank is trying to get power over
local echos for whatever reason.

 JG>> It's only a hobby, only a hobby, only a hobby.

JT> That's what I keep telling myself. I'm due to go insane any time now.

JG> You've got nothing to worry about John. It's the people above with the
JG> firm grip on reality that have lost it.

So that's normal. Good, I was beginning to worry. :-)

Oh, I also just received a policy complaint from David More, a real one this
time, not just a pretend threat like all the others. This one had "formal
policy complaint" on the top. Whoo Hoo!

I also posted a couple of messages in zone3sysop that he may not like, mainly
because one (a couple actually) proves he is a shifty cunt, and the other
ridicules him. For those who have access, look for the subject line "do it
yourself policy complaint kit" in zone3sysop. I thought it was rather funny.
