KR> how am i genned on your system, like user name and system name? PE> Ukeithr and Ukeithr, I believe. KR> i tried last night, but neither of my modems wanted to communicate to KR> yours. PE> What about via telix? Are you saying that when I am running Linux, my PE> modem fails to connect, but when I'm running OS/2, you are able to log PE> on to my underlying BBS? nope, with my present modems (multitech 2834zdxi and multitech 2834 pcmcia card) i have always had trouble. i have never managed to get connected at 28k8, i fixed bink to only call at 26k4. at 28k8 it looks like one modem thinks that it has a 28k8 connect but the other thinks that there is 26k4 connect. on this occasion i couldnt get either the desktop or the laptop to reliably connect using either qmodem for win 95 or procomm for windows 3. i may have to go back to telix or some other dos program to get better control (with the windows comms programs you are at the mercy of a lot of things) but i will have to download it as i lost all that stuff when my hard disk crashed a month or so back. PE> I don't believe you. BTW, I thought you DID connect to me, and sent PE> me some fido stuff as well. There was something strange in my logs, PE> leastways. BFN. Paul. i haven't done a fido connection for a couple of weeks, i did get through with the uucp software a couple of times, but it hung at the password, thats why i was trying to use a normal comms prog to check out the log on procedure. keith @EOT: --- WinPoint 0.2.08 Alpha* Origin: Malfunction Junction (3:712/610.6) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 712/610 711/934 |
