I have heard that Ep 1 will be released on DVD  at the same time the video
is released.  Shortly after Ep 1 comes out Ep 4,5,6 will follow on DVD.
Probably early or mid 2000.  I don't know for a fact, but I hope this is
true.  I have been holding out on buying a DVD player until Star Wars is
released.
