-> as it has been on OS/2, use SIO with vmodem providing the virtual -> modem port for the software to talk to... i still use SIO 1.60D I tried the SIO vmodem and it didn't work on warp4, an incompatible dll problem I recall ... or did you mean you're only using SIO with serial ports, and not vmodem? I have an inbound telnet solution for PCBoard. It's a reverse telnet proxy, written in PERL, runs on linux. Works for me cause I use a linux box for my router/firewall. The PCboard nodes connect to the linux proxy with serial ports and null modem cables, if you have a multiport serial card on the linux box, or via ethernet and a telnet fossil I wrote. The fossil needs Novell TCP/IP from Client32, so your node requires that to run the fossil. Can be either DOS or Windows 3.1. I have a Windows 3.1 test box set up with 2 nodes working, I think it could do 4. It's all free, but a lot of work to get working. People enjoy talking about the good old days and PCBoard, but few are willing to invest the time and effort to make it happen. --- PCBoard (R) v15.4/M 250 Beta* Origin: Torres Vedras - Portugal (2:362/6) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 280 640/384 712/0 620 848 770/1 @PATH: 362/6 240/1120 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
