-> Hi Darrell,
Hi David,
-> The mouse support in OLX [and its predecessor SLMR] is implemented by
-> polling the mouse port. This means the program basically loops
-> looking for something to do, rather than give back the CPU to the
-> dispatcher and wait for an event to occur.
Ok, now that makes sense. You the first one to explain what has been
going on. I was baffled.
-> OS/2 has the capability to detect this. Ensure your idle sensitivity
-> and idle time values are set to reasonable values in the VDM
-> settings. The defaults are good starting points.
Ok, will tweak them some more.
-> My personal solution was to ditch OLX and use a multi-threaded OS/2
-> mail reader,
-> such as KWQ/2 or MR/2. [I've registered both.]
I have been looking at MR/2 and pretty much have it set up. It wasn't
working very well with arj. I have switched to pkzip ( yuk! ) and may
soon switch to zip.
I switched from Wildcat to PCBoard. I have a few bugs to work out. Some
of the doors intermittently lock up. Need to figure that out to. Funny
thing is, it does not to it all the time. I will take them into the door
and stop shy of asking if they want ansi graphics. If I close the shell,
it takes them back to the board and they can go right into the door??
BTW, why did you register both?
