Might check a phone book for a large city in the area, too - look under AFT 
(State) or under "(State) Federation of Teachers". Or, if one knows that a 
particular school district has a rather large population of AFT members (such 
as my local district), call the district office and find out who is in charge 
- they can give one the particulars one needs to join.
