The shuttle design is too large for what is required and the
passengers have no escape from a 'wounded' vehicle.  Like the
old biplane days with no parachutes.

The shuttle is a huge welfare program for a clique that
should've ended decades ago.

I'm surprised that a former pilot would believe in 'fate'? What
about the commercial airline pilot whose jet airliner flipped
upside down and he got it back under control and landed it?
They said if he had not been as experienced as he was all
would've died.
