subject: [OS2HW] IDEcable80v40

Hi,

Obviously there is a difference, but are 80 wire cables backwardly
compatible with 40 pin cables?

Would there be a reason to NOT hookup cd players, to an 80 wire IDE cable.
for example. OR does it depend on the age of the player?

What test is available to test the connections of either 40 or 80 pin
cables. No, I don't want to use an OHM meter.

More input, please.

KevinJ.
