Well I"m back working him again.. except the other day he did something and 
blew out his right rear..  he's such a baby about pain I figure I"ll be able 
to saddle him again in a day or so and slowly work back..
 
When the owner gets back I'm going to have a word about a 2 to 3 time a week 
work session with him to keep him honest.. I've cleaned up his act before.. 
might as well keep him honest since she won't.

Well Coffee is a saint and a pain in the arse...  and he gets very jealous.
 
I've now got the kid walking around in the creek with us.. she doesn't like 
it but at least she's now doing it without getting to high..

Well Coffee is getting a bit sour about ponnying..  he tried to take her head 
off at least three times in the past two days.. I gave him a good turn out 
today to blow off some steam.. that ought to help.

Nope, he's stuck in his habits (old style training), he's very immature about 
some things, so it's just not worth the effort.. I attribute the immaturity 
to the damage and the fact that he can't handle ego very well and it gets in 
his way very fast.. in fact when Straw spooked the other day he went to get 
him off the hot walker.. when he did he started the old style yanking on the 
face a lot.. I walked up behind him and politely asked him not to do that.. 
He went off and pouted spouting off about him being a trainer. Neigher the 
owner (kim) or I was happy about someone yanking on his face like that when 
he was spooky.. I want them to settle down.
 
 
Further more according to this guy.. if you get them in the right bit it 
solves most of a horses problem.. I'm not going to argue with that.

Well, this weekend we've driven, a tiny bit of lunging, ponied, tied her up 
to a hitching post, got her a bath (she's wearing a tail bag now), clipped 
her face in the stall without haltering her, worked on ground tying, the 
river, putting more and more weight on her back (leaning on her with my 
body), a small amount of trail stuff (walking over things), just being a 
people horse (everyone is crazy about her), etc etc etc..
 
CJ is unfortunately slightly neglected since I can't ride her till the
shoer gets back out and fixes her front plates..

I have mixed feelings about both.. Tush is so level headed.. she's never been 
that much of a baby.. although she was..  every once in awhile I can still 
get her to let go a little.. chuckle..
