Wrong base - it's organic, and the body deals with it.  Indian ink,
original type, is carbon particle based (soot) - and the body can't break
it down.

Don't know offhand what's used for the colour on the coloured ones -
obviously some sort of dye or coloured particle that the body can't remove.

Implication:  Proper tattooing isn't removable without serious risk and effort.
