BT> In a message to me you mentioned that the Indians aren't
BT> benefiting
BT> from the righ proceeds that are made 24 hours a day in
BT> Foxwoods. I
BT> don't understand.
Oh no, I NEVER said anything LIKE that! The individual Tribal Members are
benefitting greatly. Even MORE greatly, considering their economic status
before Foxwoods. I would imagine few, if any, even owned their own houses.
BT> R U saying that the Federal Government is running FOXWOODS?
PLEASE read what I SAY, not what you want to interpret my words as. In the
US Constitution, it is expressly stated that the Federal Government is the
SOLE agent for dealings with the various Indian tribes. The states are NOT
so empowered. (I believe it's article 25, but you could look it up.)
BT> My few trips
BT> to that beautiful resourt in CT have shown me no indian
BT> involvement but
BT> I might not recognise an indian person if I saw one. The
BT> actual dealers
BT> that I have met are just plain ordinary working people
Exactly. I know of a few tribal members working at the casino, but none of
them are dealers. Dealers there are mostly local people, as you say, just
trying to make a living.
BT> What really goes on behind the scene is not available to
BT> the public.
Actually, the local paper, the NL Day, is in almost constant hot water with
the Tribe, MAKING the scenes behind the scenes available to the public. Not
NEARLY all of what goes on is available to the public, but the paper tries.
