In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we visited a state park
(Tahquamenon Falls). My maiden name was Birch, and I got a
big kick out of taking my family's picture underneath a big
clump of birch trees next to a big sign which read, "DO NOT
Peel Birches--$500.00 Fine!" I don't know about where
you are, and that was many years ago, but I don't think they
would be any more lenient now, and probably not where you
are, either.
My mother was quick to point out that in the case of that sign
it was illegal for me to peel the dead skin off my sunburn,
but I just gave her a dirty look, as only a 15-year-old can do
when her mother says something she considers "weird." hehe
I haven't seen many birch trees since I moved to Oklahoma,
so I guess I can't help Dennis out, either.
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
... I'm short and witty; does that mean I could be a tagline?
