No, it may be SCPC, Single Channel Per Carrier.
Even when your receiver is turned "off" it is still providing
power to the LNB. Your SCPC system will still receive signals
from the sat -- depends on where the dish is pointed and the
polarity that you last used.
Also some receivers keep the RF and IF parts powered up all
the time, so if you have a subcarrier demodulator connected to
your receiver, it will still function. However, some
receivers scan (constantly change channels) when
turned "off".
Not sure what you mean by satellite processor. With your
receiver turned on, when you change channels but keep the
same polarity does the audio out of the processor change?
If so then it is a subcarrier demodulator.
