subject: Help

I need some help with my modem. I just got one of those cheap USRobotics
Sportster WinModem. The box says it's a 22.8, but the guy at the shop said
it's actually a 33.6 inside. I loaded up and got going no problem, but when
I look at the connect speed it is 24000/ARQ/V34/LAPM.
Is there something I'm missing to get it to bump up to 33.6 speed. Or am I
lost totally and I don't understand how it all works? I use Telix for
Windows and went through the Rescan process and it picked the modem as a USRo
Sportster v.32 There are other options such as USR Sportster 288000 v.34, or
USR Sportster 28800 v.FC. etc. Which one should I pick. Are there special
additions I need to program to the modem to make it see 33.6, since the
manual is written for 28.8? How does this work?
Thanks for any help.
