Hi Kevin,

WRT OS/2-eCS, the disk numbering with mixed SCSI/(E)IDE disks is purely 
based on the relative positions in the config.sys of the adapter device 
drivers - e.g. if you have 2 x IDE and 1 x SCSI , then if 
IBM1S506.ADD|Danis506.ADD precedes e.g. AICU160.ADD, then the SCSI disk 
will be the last disk. Otherwise it will be the first disk. Under Linux 
the SCSI disk will be a "sda" with partitions "sda1 ....
sdan", whereas 
the IDE will be "hda/hdb/hdc/hdd" depending upon whether attached as 
master/slave to primary/secondary controller [ignoring SATA channels]. 
In the case of windoze, I can't offer any suggestions.

Although I am a long way behind in reading messages, I didn't notice any
