A small amount of dielectric grease on the connector might help there. Don't know how you would pinch the sockets a bit. A lot of amperage goes through those connectors nowadays. I could not tell you what is the exact problem with yours though. My trouble was I kept upgrading in the old case and never thought of the power supply. It has a k7at-h mb with 1.3 duron, fans, floppy, usb, DVD r/rw, 40 gig WD drive. The DVD and hard drive would get really hot after a while, along with a lot of heat coming out of the case all the time. I added a second HD, a 160 gig maxtor which ran fine for about 20 minutes, then just went nuts. I sent that one back and maxtor sent another under warrenty, it seemed also unreliable. I abandoned that computer for a while, the 80 gig drive into another computer running fine. Recently I resurrected it with the same 40 gig drive I added a PCI SATA card and an 80 gig sata drive. This drive would move data for about 7 seconds, click and die for about three seconds, then click and get going again. I checked WD's website and they said possible power problem. I then opened up the case and found I was using a 275 watt power supply. changed to the 400w and no more problems, and all the components are running reliably and much cooler. Ample power and good connections are very important I know now. Franklin __________________________________________ Yahoo! DSL – Something to write home about.
