Jordan concluded a two-day test session at Silverstone circuit in
England today despite experiencing torrential weather conditions and
several mechanical problems. The drivers completed 102 laps between them
over the course of the seven hour session and the team was happy with
the progress made during the day.

Nick Heidfeld, the team's only confirmed driver for the 2004 season,
drove the new EJ14 while guest test driver Timo Glock, drove last year's
EJ13. The cars ran on the International circuit - a 2.249 mile lap using
the top half of the full Grand Prix circuit. The configuration is used
mainly for Touring Car and Formula Three races and is very rarely used
for Formula One testing.

The day started overcast and the drivers took full advantage of the
conditions to do several short stints, with Heidfeld running up to ten
laps at a time and Glock doing stints of up to five laps. Each time
Glock left the garage he would coast very slowly along the pitlane. Also
both drivers were notably lifting off the throttle through Woodcotte,
the final corner, as the track was very slippery.

After an hour Heidfeld was unable to change down gears as he approached
the Becketts hairpin in the first part of the lap and he coasted to a
halt. The car was returned to the garage and completely dismantled while
the mechanics worked on the rear of the car. It was reassembled ninety
minutes later and, after initial problems selecting a gear, Heidfeld was
able to return to the circuit. Glock, meanwhile, did a pit stop to allow
the team to practice refuelling.

Heavy rain then arrived and prevented the team doing any more running
before lunch. The rain continued well into the afternoon and the session
was halted briefly to allow the drivers to inspect the circuit in a
road car. The rain then eased and midway through the afternoon Heidfeld
returned to the circuit. His run was cut short, however, as his car
coasted to a halt at the fast Bridge corner after suffering exactly the
same problem as it experienced earlier in the day.

Both cars were now in the garage while Heidfeld's gearbox was repaired
and Glock's engine was changed. The cars remained dismantled until the
final half an hour when they were hastily reassembled and both drivers
took to the circuit. Heidfeld concentrated on doing a 20-lap run while
Glock carried out pit stops in order for a team member to practice using
the refuelling rig.

The session ended a few minutes early due to poor visibility. The Jordan
team will now head to Jerez in Spain where they are scheduled to begin a
four-day test next Tuesday.
