By Nikki Reynolds, F1 Editor - Motorsport.com
Juan Pablo Montoya became the fourth different driver to top the testing
times this week, the Williams man setting a best of 1:14.800 in the FW26 on
Thursday. The Colombian worked on aerodynamics and mechanical set up and
completed 51 laps.

Williams also had tester Antonio Pizzonia on duty and Nelson Piquet Junior,
third and sixth fastest respectively. Pizzonia focused on tyre evaluations
in a second FW26 while Piquet continued to familiarize himself with the FW25
and worked on set ups.
Fernando Alonso was second on the time sheet, three tenths down on Montoya,
the Spaniard focusing on set up of the Renault R24 and tyres. Team test
driver Franck Montagny continued in the R23 and also worked on set up and
tyres, finishing fourth fastest. The team concluded its test programme for
the week and recommences at Jerez next week.
Toyota's Cristiano da Matta was fifth quickest but teammate Olivier Panis
had a heavy crash in the afternoon that saw him taken to hospital. The
Frenchman appeared uninjured and is reportedly fine, but is being kept in
for observation overnight.
Sauber's Felipe Massa, who endured a similar crash to Panis yesterday, was
released from hospital today and went home to rest. The Brazilian should be
well enough for next week's Jerez session.
McLaren had two cars on track today, David Coulthard seventh and Alex Wurz
the last of the nine drivers present. Ferrari concluded its private Imola
test with Michael Schumacher setting a best of 1:21.231 over 25 laps,
working on set up of the F2004.
