The key is after you run SETUP.sh as root, you need to go to a new TTY
(CTRL-ALT F2 from your desktop session) then login as the mbse user. It will
fail every time if you miss this step. you MUST configure and build it as the
mbse user then use su command to get root access to make install

do NOT use sudo and do NOT clear the environment with su -
