Pardon? V42/LAP-M or V42/MNP? The ones I've seen fail over EC
have been UMC things not Rockwell

Think they're gradually getting this back together now following their
"re-structuring" And this was only on incoming 3429-ers. What I'm on
about is the failure to negotiate a 3429 symbol rate connect, if the link
supports, from a Zoom to a Courier. But: Surprise! Disable your 3200
rate with s54=80 (which includes disabling V8CI) or for the 92MHz Sportster
s54=16 and, Whammo!  3429

I re-iterate that it's "modem apartheid" since Skokie is not exactly
deficient in programming skills. And how come this exhibits itself
over the entire V34 consumer range, irrespective of chipset?

Cheers
Richard
