That I understand, but something I have been wondering about is, is there 
likely to be a program that loses "quality" while working with
and saving to 
*.wav format. ie. I use CDWAVE to split LP sides into tracks, no sound 
processing, all things being equal, am I likely to loose quality of sound 
using different apps to save the same "sound data" or is this
something that 
is not likely to happen.

As soon as that LP lands here, I will record it to HDD, and then write to a 
CD, and then "work" on it. :-)

The only use that my computer at home earns me a few Rands. :-)
