subject: Re: [OS2HW] SATA card and drive setup

Looking at the installation described below, I have found that this is a
Hardware RAID card, not like some of the Promise EIDE RAID cards that
were software dependant.

It may therefore be possible to set up the RAID-1 or RAID-0 Array from
the configuration program that is entered in the cards BIOS at startup
by Pressing CTRL+S or F4. To monitor and alert on a failed array, the
supplied "Medley" software is JAVA and so may also run under OS/2 !!

Something to investigate for the next project !

Slightly off-topic, but related, when trying to format this drive, I hit
the size problems, it appears to me ...

FAT maximum size 2GB
FAT32 maximum size 32GB
HPFS maximum size 64GB
NTFS - no issues but can only be read under OS/2 not updated.
JFS - no issues but cannot read under Windoze.

So finding a "common ground" is difficult !

Cheers/2

Ed.
