Don, I was all SCSI (LSI) too 'till a year ago.  Dani's docs are complete but
you will not need all 25 pages....just a couple of them

I have 3 optical drives, CD-R (Plextor) and CD-RW (Yamaha) both SCSI and the added 
Pioneer DVD-RW as IDE.   I use RSJ and can burn with either CD-RW or DVD-RW.
My SCSI driver LSI 21040 is first in config.sys ahead of Dani's. I see the
above Opticals
as drives V, W, and X, in the order of above.

Here's my config.sys:
