I started in '65 playing "Gloria" and bar-chording "Just Like Me" along 
with a buddy (whom I last saw in '73, when he came thru Grand Rapids with 
his Mossman--where are you, Mitch Makowsky? Jersey?).  Got a Harmony for 
Xmas in '65 to replace the Blue Bird.  Stomped a hole in the Harmony 
(customer dissatisfaction); bought a Guild Madeira A6 for way too much 
money in '68 (still have it).  Never learned how to swim in the deep end 
until recently.  I would've loved lessons, but I think I'm at a point 
where I can get myself thru the fundamentals with the books I have + just 
applying myself.  Maybe after that some lessons would help.
  So you started playing in a band in '72, after the '68 lesson-hating 
wore off, or howzat work?
